Wall street protests

Basically he's saying there's nothing to protest, because if you can't find a job that suits your abilities and interests, you should be a soldier for the largest corporate controlled military on the planet. Herp derp, I hope his taxpayer funded time at college manages to pull his head out of his ass. Moron.

or, perhaps, and i know im making a stretch here, and could possibly be something that you cant grasp because it doesnt mesh with your beliefs, but...

Maybe hes doing something he actually believes in, and takes pride in.

just a maybe.

He may not believe in it. But he may realize there is a difference between "no jobs" and "no jobs I want". Not everyone in the Army is in the infantry. There are tons of jobs that keep you out of the shit. It is a way to get a paycheck while receiving training to better yourself once you're out. Who wouldn't want to work for a company that pretty much can't go bankrupt? Don't you think Lehman Brothers wanted to raise their debt ceiling?

Government employees get great pay, great benefits, and a great pension. Yes, you may be working for a "corporation" that you do not agree with, but who wouldn't work for Phillip Morris for the right price? Same concept.

i know all of that, thats part of the maybe.
some do it for the pay and the security.
others do it for the dignity and the honor.

It's more like telling a blind person what color his hair is.
You mean telling a blind person what color hair you want him to believe he has.

How do you know what he is saying? Maybe you should stop making wild presumptions about people and their beliefs.

Being in the military is a calculated sacrifice. Someone else owns you. It's not all smooth sailing and frankly, the pay isn't all that great either, much like in real life, until you reach higher ranks.

It's not that there isn't anything to protest because there are THOUSANDS of things related to our socio-economic problems worth protesting.

The problem everyone else has with the OWS protests, and the problem you consistently fail to acknowledge, is the entitlement mindset espoused by a large constituency of these people. It is emblematic of a much larger problem.

Protest misuse of taxpayer money...protest corruption...protest mismanagement of individuals' retirement accounts/mortgages/insurance products, etc.

But don't tack on "free college for every American" (on their published list of demands)...what the fuck is that? Why on Earth would you ask for that? How is that related to corporate corruption?

I don't understand why you keep defending people that are making statements in clear opposition to many of the beliefs that I know (from having read your posts for four years) you hold...i.e. not having your income swindled away from you by a socialistic national regime, and funneled into programs for the lazy and entitled (read: OWS)...because that is EXACTLY what they are asking for.

I realize that ows has a socialist element, but I'm not going to assume that just because someone supports that ideology, they are a lazy worthless nonproductive leech. It's the religious like counter protest defending our fucked status quo that I saw as the more alarming of the two. What do any of us know really? With our limited perspectives we are forced to make many assumptions. I assume military people are the scum of society who sell their souls to the most evil entity I can fathom. You assume that because someone wants to dramatically expand our public education system that he is a lazy commie welfare sucking leech. Maybe everybody is wrong and the world is fucked.

False. Occupy Warren is the town's way of getting people to stop their cars and buy a donut or something.

That town is complete shit.

20 ? You mean I had some homeless-looking black trying to open my door in a parking lot and that town is that small ?

Ugh. I hate your state. It's default setting is "Dump"
